CSL Policies, Terms and Conditions

Please Note:
When you register for a class or program with CSL, you are agreeing to comply with all of the policies listed below.

COVID-19:

Click here to view the most recent update to our policy.

12-Hour Cancellation Clause:

Our teachers pour much time and effort into preparing their lessons for you. Therefore, if you are enrolled in private or semi-private lessons, we request at least 12 hours notice for cancellations. If you cancel a lesson with less than 12 hours notice, you are still charged for the lesson, and our teacher is not required to make up the class.

Refunds:

CSL reserves the right to cancel a class if fewer than 3 students register for our adult group classes (fewer than 5 students for our kids classes). If the class is cancelled, and CSL can’t accommodate you with another class option (we email you these options immediately), your payment will be refunded in full. If you have registered for the class and want to withdraw, you must do so at least 7 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a refund.

Please note that NO refunds will be issued for student withdrawals once classes have started or for missed classes.

Recurring Payments:

If you select to register with recurring payments, you will be charged the first installment at the time of purchase, and all following payments will be automatically charged monthly until paid in full.

Registering for class is a 10-week commitment. You are responsible for the entire payment regardless of how many times you attend class. The more you go to class the more you will get out of our program!

Expiration of Hours for Customized Lessons and Corporate Instruction:

In order for CSL to deliver high-quality, effective language instruction that fosters student success, consistency is critical.

If students or clients go for one month from their last lesson without having a lesson with their teacher, they will lose priority in the teacher’s schedule and may have to enter a waiting period to complete the remainder of their package of hours due to the high demand for our teachers and their services.

If students or clients do not communicate with the teacher at all for one month from their last lesson about taking a break from lessons for special reasons, the remaining hours in the most recently purchased package will expire.

If students or clients do not have a lesson for 6 months from their last lesson, regardless of reason, any remaining hours in the most recently purchased package will expire.

Our teachers are flexible and willing to work on a case-by-case basis with students and clients to help them achieve their goals amidst busy schedules and unexpected life events. This policy enables our teachers to better serve all of our students and accommodate their unique needs and circumstances.

Class Recordings & Multimedia:

Class Recordings: Classes that take place through Chattanooga School of Language’s (“CSL”) video chat platform (Zoom) are recorded by CSL (“Class Recordings”). Class Recordings are available to the Teacher providing the Class and CSL Staff to (1) provide a viewable copy to students who missed the Class, or who wish to review the Class, for their personal educational purposes; and (2) review the Class Recording in order to improve Classes. In addition, CSL may use Class Recordings to provide and improve our Services, for customer support, and for compliance purposes. CSL will delete Class Recordings under the following circumstances: (a) upon the request of a Parent for the deletion of their child’s personally identifiable information, or (b) upon the reasonable determination of CSL that a Class Recording should be removed to protect the privacy of certain Users or because of violations of these Terms of Service.

Marketing & Social Media: CSL retains the right to use Class Recordings and other photos, video or multimedia from Classes in social media posts, and other marketing efforts. Upon purchasing a class with CSL, you consent to you and/or your child appearing in marketing materials.

Removing Consent: If you would not like you and/or your child to appear in marketing materials or in Class Recordings, please notify Chattanooga School of Language in writing, via an email to [email protected]om, a minimum seven days prior to the start of classes.

Anti-Harassment Policy:

Chattanooga School of Language is committed to the welfare of staff and students, and wants to ensure both can learn and work in a comfortable environment. If, at any time, an employee or student acts in a discriminatory, disrespectful, or any other manner that is counter to our values, an investigation will be conducted discretely and fairly.

Any student who wishes to file a grievance can complete this form, and it will be submitted directly to CSL leadership.
