For Kids

Your child is born with the ability to learn any language in the world. Now what?
Inspired by a firm belief in the importance of language learning for children, our kids programs are dedicated to teaching the target language as well as building cultural awareness with our young students.
Through our classes, your children will develop an understanding of the target language and culture through play and interaction. CSL teachers use a holistic approach that focuses on both conversation and cultural aspects in order to make the language come alive for the children.

Homeschool Program

Developing target language skills and increasing cultural awareness for young children and teens through our homeschool language program.

Our language program is founded on the principles of Comprehensible Input, and our focus is language acquisition. Through our program, students will develop a connection and basic understanding of the target language and culture through storytelling and interaction. Classes will be conducted primarily in the target language, and the students will be given the tools to start developing their comprehension skills (reading and listening) and, consequently, their ability to speak and write the language (age appropriately).

Through storytelling and relevant interactions, our language students will learn to understand and use high-frequency structures in the target language. The class will provide a holistic approach to learning a language by focusing on body-kinesthetic, student-driven, and fun activities that make the language come alive.

Immersion Playgroups

Babies are born with the ability to learn any language in the world...Now what??

As research tells us, the earlier you expose a child to another language, the easier it is for your child to become bilingual and fluent in that language – with a more native accent too! (Not to mention the cognitive and social benefits to learning another language.)

This group is for those of us who see the importance of raising bilingual/multi-lingual children.

Our immersion playgroup is for kids ages 1-3 and their caregivers.

It provides an opportunity for a child and his/her caregiver to interact with a CSL language teacher and each other through age-appropriate and engaging songs, movements, books, games, and crafts.

Fun fact: The camp’s founders, Emily and Teo Valdés, are Spanish teachers at the Chattanooga School of Language!
